ESPN Pulls Plug on Cell Phone Operations Going forward Mobile ESPN will cease being a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) and instead seek to provide its sports scores news and video highlights to other wireless companies with large customer bases. Globally there were already more than 175 MVNO brands either launched or planned as of April of this year according to the research firm ARCchart.
